About me…
I have been practicing Pilates for over fifteen years and it has changed my relationship with my body. I had always been active, but Pilates taught me that it is the quality of movement that matters, not the quantity. “As much as necessary; as little as possible,” as Joseph Pilates put it.
And so, I decided to turn my passion into my profession. I love teaching, working with people to help them understand their bodies and to live a healthier and happier life.
Over the desk-bound years of my previous fast-paced career in marketing & communications, Pilates helped me with back pain and postural issues, managing my scoliosis and a number of sports injuries, including a disc herniation. I’m a mum of two and Pilates accelerated my recovery following my pregnancies and childbirth. It also helps me keep up with their boundless energy as a working mum today!
I qualified in Mat Pilates instruction with Polestar Pilates UK in 2018 and more recently completed my Comprehensive Qualifications in 2022, to include all Pilates apparatus; reformer, trapeze table, chair, ladder barrel and the spine corrector.
Polestar Pilates provides the most comprehensive Pilates rehabilitation and fitness curriculum globally and I have been extremely lucky to be trained by some of the best professionals in the industry, including Psychological Fitness Coach Liz Bussey, Franklin Method Specialist Diane Nye, the acclaimed Lisa Stredwick and Bethia Hope Rollins, and mentored by exemplary practitioners including Zoë Platt and Vikki Harris.
I also hold Level II and III diplomas in Fitness Instruction and Personal Training from Premier Global, including pre- and post-natal, circuit and suspension training. I am accredited with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REP).
